Hotel Assessment Raises Additional Marketing Funds Starting July 1 |
Following the resounding renewal of VTV’s Tourism Marketing District on May 3, hotels across the Tri-Valley will start assessing overnight guests $3.25 per occupied room per night beginning July 1, 2022. This new 10-year rate ($1 more than the last seven years) will spur augmented marketing efforts for the benefit of 40 hotels in the Tri-Valley TMD Plan. Announcement letters and forms were mailed to all hotels earlier this month in anticipation of the increase. With thanks to all the petition signers, VTV can increase the momentum to bring back thousands of travelers to hundreds of Tri-Valley hospitality businesses. Thank you! (For details, contact your city finance departments directly).

State Water Agency Orders Businesses to Stop Watering Non-Functional Turf |
The State Water Resources Control Board approved an order that restricts businesses and institutions from watering non-functional turf. The regulation requires all urban water suppliers to implement conservation actions under Level 2 of their Water Shortage Contingency Plans, which commonly include measures such as limiting outdoor irrigation to certain days or hours, increasing patrolling to identify water waste, and enforcing water-use prohibitions. CHLA members are strongly encouraged to partake in water conservation efforts such as turf replacement and using CHLA water cards in hotel rooms.
