Happy Earth Day! Celebrate Earth Day all weekend long by getting some tips from our Eco-Friendly Activities in the Tri-Valley blog. It includes some farm-to-table dining options, sustainable wine tasting and fun exploration ideas at some of our local parks.
Did you know that the local hospitality industry is already ahead of the game when it comes to going green? This Earth Day, Visit Tri-Valley is celebrating its local hotels' eco-conscious protocols that are doing good for the planet, and in turn, their guests. As revealed in a recent survey analyzing environmentally-friendly best practices in place, eleven of our hotels are making meaningful efforts to conserve resources, reduce waste, and give back.
In fact, 82% of hotels engage in reduced-water landscaping and 73% utilize low-flow toilets. Furthermore, a whopping 91% of hotels engage in a recycling program and 64% compost organic materials. In addition, most hotels have incorporated water refill stations, bulk amenities, or biodegradable utensils to help eliminate single-use plastic consumption. But that's not all--seven of the eleven hotels also donate extra toiletry items and three give excess food to those in need. When travelers choose to stay at a hotel in the Tri-Valley, they are not only choosing to support the local community, but also the globe.

Meanwhile, Uber and Lyft have also dropped the mandate, but BART hasn't made an official or final determination if a mask mandate will drop and masks are still required to be worn on BART.
