Alameda and Contra Costa Counties Relax Mask Mandates In alignment with the State, the Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and the City of Berkeley lifted universal mask requirements for most indoor public settings.
Unvaccinated individuals over age two will still be required to wear masks in all indoor public settings. Businesses, venue operators and hosts may determine their own paths forward to protect staff and patrons and may choose to require all patrons to wear masks.
Indoor masking is still required by the State for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, in public transportation, health care settings, congregate settings like correctional facilities and homeless shelters, long term care facilities, and in schools and childcare settings.
Businesses have the right to require masks regardless of vaccination status, so keep a mask handy, just in case.

Travel Demand and Spending Looking Optimistic
Outlook Forum From left to right: Tracy Farhad - President/CEO, Visit Tri-Valley; George Phillips - CEO/Owner, Beets Hospitality Group; Robin Fahr - Vice President Marketing, Visit Tri-Valley; Stephanie Goodwin - VTV PR Account Manager. Tracy and Robin attended Visit California's Outlook Forum held in San Francisco this year. Joining us was George Phillips of Beets Hospitality Group, and Stephanie Goodwin, Visit Tri-Valley's PR rep. It was inspiring to be back, face-to-face, with colleagues from around the state, sharing ideas and dreams in this post-Covid world. One thing is certain: Things are clearly on the up-and-up for California’s travel and hospitality industry.
Marketing Update VTV's Robin Fahr attending IMM in New York City. Robin attended the 2022 International Media Marketplace in New York last month. She had 24 media appointments with journalists, travel writers and influencers from around North America, all interested in the Tri-Valley as a destination. This annual face-to-face conference produces excellent results, such as recently hosted travel journalist, Jim Byers whose upcoming Tri-Valley story will be featured in the Vancouver Sun.

Sports Update Todd just returned from his fourth sports conference/tradeshow of the past five months. Sports Express was a great success with one-on-one meetings with more than 25 sports planners, all the while holding negotiations in the off-hours of the conference for national events with USA Weightlifting and USA Boxing. Five more on-site sporting events (including two national events) are coming to the Tri-Valley next month!
