VTV’s Tourism Marketing District (TMD) Petition Drive Underway Visit Tri-Valley has launched a petition drive for our 40 hotel partners to renew, expand and secure future funding for continued marketing efforts within the region. VTV is funded by an approved hotel room assessment at each hotel in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and Danville. Petition signers guarantee the TMD Plan is sent to each city/town for public hearings and final adoption prior to the current plan’s expiration in June 2022. The draft TMD Plan has been approved by the Steering Committee, VTV Board of Directors and the Economic Development Departments of our represented districts. Thanks to all who have completed their DocuSign signatures already – and for those with busy holiday schedules, please remember to review and sign before vacations begin. For any questions regarding terms of the plan, please contact [email protected] or call 925-417-6688 for details. We look forward to welcoming overnight visitors to the Tri-Valley for the next decade to come!
New International Travel Requirements Take Effect Concern about the Omicron variant has prompted new rules for international travel to the United States. Inbound international travelers are now required to show proof of a negative COVID test taken within 24 hours of departure, regardless of vaccination status. The U.S. has also banned travel from South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. The new restrictions come just three weeks after the U.S. lifted its international travel ban on more than 30 countries. While this is a step backward, many are thankful that no quarantines were imposed.
