Mask Mandates Lifting?
Bay Area Health Officials announced in a joint press release the criteria needed in order to lift indoor mask mandates. The counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Sonoma and the City of Berkeley will lift the indoor masking requirement in public spaces not subject to state and federal masking rules when all the following occur:
• The jurisdiction reaches the moderate (yellow) COVID-19 transmission tier, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and remains there for at least three weeks; AND
• COVID-19 hospitalizations in the jurisdiction are low and stable, in the judgment of the health officer; AND
• 80% of the jurisdiction’s total population is fully vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or one dose of Johnson & Johnson (booster doses not considered) OR
eight weeks have passed since a COVID-19 vaccine has been authorized for emergency use by federal and state authorities for five to 11-year-olds.

Obviously, we can’t say no to a lodging deal for the holidays. Team VTV joined hundreds at the Callippe Preserve Golf Course for the annual Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing fundraiser. Although we didn’t win the best score (nor did we mind one bit), the team built bridges and camaraderie for a good cause while digging out of sand traps and native flora. Thank you, PCOC, for a great day meeting businesses and soaking up smiles on one of the Tri-Valley’s signature – and challenging - outdoor attractions!

DMA West Education Summit

Tracy and Robin headed up to Vancouver, Washington for the DMA West Education Summit, the first in-person DMA West event since the fall of 2019! As a DMA West Foundation board member, Tracy conducted a session on Providing Accessible Travel as Both a Social Imperative and a Business Opportunity, while Robin facilitated a peer-to-peer discussion on Changing Marketing Plans, Strategies & Goals. Felt good to be back and see all the familiar (and lots of new) faces of our industry!

Sports Update
The past month was a busy one for Todd. He hosted a ninety-team basketball tournament in September (as well as a small twenty-team tournament over Columbus Day weekend). He signed a fitness show to a three-year contract (starting in 2022) and went to his first in-person trade show in almost two years (TEAMS Conference in Atlantic City). While there, Todd met with more than 40 event planners and has many great opportunities to work on for future months.
