Our Mission: To foster, promote, market, and service our community as a quality destination.
May 31, 2021 Join us for an IN-PERSON Cedar Valley Hospitality Partners meeting on June 1 at the Diamond Event Center from 8:30-10am. Since recent COVID restrictions deprived us from really celebrating the fact that Black Hawk County Conservation received the Iowa Tourism Outstanding Event Award and Three Pines Farm was honored with the Iowa Tourism Outstanding Attraction Award, we plan to RE-present these prestigious awards during our meeting, in addition to our usual networking and information sharing. Please RSVP to [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you...in person! The Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau, in conjunction with the Eastern Iowa Tourism Association and Travel Iowa, is providing a special Customer Service Training workshop on June 4 at Hilton Garden Inn from 1-3pm. Master Certified Coach Heather Woody will deliver a high-energy workshop designed to help you succeed in serving internal and external customers. This impactful training will help make your business or organization more profitable and make Cedar Falls an even more welcoming destination. Heather will present via Zoom and the audience will gather in person. We anticipate high demand for this valuable event so please be sure to email [email protected] to reserve your place as soon as possible. Reservations will be accepted through June 1. Several attractions are re-opening this week, after being closed for several months, some for over a year. The Waterloo Center for the Arts Phelps Youth Pavillion opens June 2. The Grout Museum Imaginarium opens June 3. And, Lost Island Waterpark opens June 4, just to name a few! For a list of future upcoming events, visit cedarvalley365.com. My Waterloo Days is back and will be held June 7-13 in downtown Waterloo. The theme for this year's annual festival is Rock the Park and several new events have been added. The Waterloo Bucks vs. Minnesota Mud Puppies will kick-off the festivities at Riverfront Stadium on June 7 at 6:35pm. To view the full schedule of events, go to mywaterloodays.org. A collective of agencies and advocates for the arts have banded together to help strengthen and support the arts in the Cedar Valley. Based on feedback from a wide array of community members attending arts summits, this collective has set about to build a regional ‘hub’ that will lead the efforts in advocacy, resource sharing, and uplifting the arts...introducing Limelight!
One of Limelight’s first initiatives is to develop a more comprehensive perspective on the impact of the arts in our community. If you are involved in the arts, please consider giving 10-20 minutes of your time to fill in this survey. You can also follow Limelight on Facebook and Instagram.
