On Valentine’s Day, elevate your evening with a romantic dinner at one of Berkeley's fine hotels and stay the night! At the Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley, the Study Hall Rooftop Lounge offers a special prix-fixe menu featuring dishes to delight your senses. By the Bay, the Berkeley Boathouse at the DoubleTree by Hilton Berkeley Marina will proffer a menu of enticing appetizers, entrées, and desserts designed to delight the senses. It all starts with a "Gaze," a complimentary glass of bubbles to get the night started. ZINO at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza offers an elegant dining room to set the perfect mood, complemented by decidedly decadent dishes along with signature cocktails, mocktails, optional wine pairings, and live jazz. ZINO's multi-course Valentine's Menu is offered a la carte to create exactly the dinner you Cupids are dreaming of! While you're there, the Hotel Shattuck Plaza is offering a value-packed Suite Life special all February. After dinner, get your grooves on at The Freight, where a special Valentine's concert and dance party with Melba's Kitchen will get the dance floor "cookin' with love" in Berkeley's Downtown Arts District.

BLACK VINES®: WINTER SIPS & SALUTATIONS |
Voted USA Today’s #1 Wine Festival and the longest standing Black Wine Festival in the U.S., the 14th annual Black Vines® returns Feb. 22 to Ciel Creative Space in West Berkeley for a splendid afternoon of salutations and sips. This celebration of culture, art, and wine education brings together Black artists, Black musicians, and Black winemakers and vintners. With its return to the expansive and inviting Ciel Creative Space, Black Vines is destined to be a highlight of the winter season. The Black Vines fest runs from 2 pm - 6pm and admission includes access to tastings, keepsake glassware, and gourmet hors d'oeuvres. For tickets, see TicketStripe.

NBA ALL-STAR GOSPEL CELEBRATION COMES TO BERKELEY |
The 74th NBA All-Star Game takes place on Sunday, February 16, 5 pm PT at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors. In addition to the big game, there are special events happening in Berkeley and the Oakland Arena. As part of NBA All-Star Weekend, the 18th anniversary of the All-Star Gospel Celebration honoring NBA stars comes to Berkeley at Ciel Creative Space on Feb. 14 at 8 pm. The official gospel event of NBA All-Star Weekend, the evening will honor NBA players, legends, executives, and hometown heroes with soul-stirring performances and heartfelt tributes. It's a star-studded night with powerful music and inspiring moments combining faith, music, and a love of the game. Click here for tickets.

On Valentine’s Day, Donato & Co. will offer an Italian-inspired four-course $80 prix fixe menu, in addition to its regular menu and a la carte Valentine's Day specials. Chef Gianluca Guglielmi's special offerings include Fritto Misto followed by housemade tagliolini or ravioli, and a choice of two mains: petrale sole or King Cole Farms duck leg confit. Finish with a sensual dessert plate of pistachio cookies, strawberry sorbet, creme anglaise, rose petals and chocolate. Donato & Co. is located on Ashby Ave. in the heart of Berkeley's charming Elmwood District.

CALIFORNIA NATURE TOUR IN BERKELEY |
The Regional Parks Botanic Garden is a naturally beautiful and tranquil living museum of California native plants. Located within Tilden Regional Park in the hills above Berkeley, California, this enchanting 10-acre garden is a sanctuary for many of the state's rare and endangered plants and a place for visitors to wander among trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses from plant communities up and down the state. The admission-free Botanic Garden is welcoming to all visitors from our entire Bay Area community and travelers to the Bay Area. Visitors can take advantage of a free, guided tour of the garden on select weekends and holidays. Tours are available on Saturdays at 2:00 PM, Sundays at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and on holidays at 2:00 PM. Explore the beauty of the garden while learning about its history and plants in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Tours last about an hour and meet at the Visitor Center—no reservations are required, but space is limited to 10 people per tour. Feel free to leave the tour at any time.
