| CAL GOLDEN BEARS FOOTBALL READY TO ROAR
UC Berkeley's Pac-12 football squad, the California Golden Bears, opens the season with back-to-back 1 p.m. home kickoffs at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium against UC Davis (Sept. 3) and UNLV (Sept. 10). The Golden Bears visit Notre Dame the following Saturday to face the Fighting Irish for the first time in 55 years with the kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT. Cal's lone regular-season Friday contest against UCLA on Nov. 25 will kick off at 1:30 p.m. Kickoff times and television selections for Cal's other eight regular-season games are expected to be announced either six or 12 days in advance. The schedule features additional Pac-12 home contests against Arizona (Sept. 24), Washington (Oct. 22), Oregon (Oct. 29) and Stanford (Nov. 19) for the 125th Big Game. Go Bears!

4bells: BERKELEY'S NEW PUBLIC HOUSE
4bells Public House is Berkeley's new sports bar, a joint venture between Chef Sergio Emilio Monleón, owner of La Marcha, the critically acclaimed tapas bar, and Jennifer Seidman, owner of Acme Bar & Company, the San Pablo Ave. bar with an award-winning whiskey collection. Together, Monleón and Seidman have created a fun neighborhood pub with elevated bar food and simple, yet high quality beverages complete with an arcade game room where everyone is welcome. The name “4bells” references the number of quarters in basketball and gridiron football games as well as the ever-present bell in many popular sports around the world.

BERKELEY REP'S GODDESS GOOD TO GO
Starting August 13, Berkeley Rep presents the world premiere of an exuberant new musical by award-winning playwright Jocelyn Bioh (School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) and composer Michael Thurber, conceived by director Saheem Ali. A young man returns home to Mombasa, Kenya to marry his fiancée and step into his family’s political dynasty. But when he visits Moto Moto—a steamy afro-jazz club and the stomping ground of his youth—he finds himself drawn to a mysterious new singer.
