Hampton Virginia Aquaplex will host its opening event Oct. 29 |

The newly built Hampton Virginia Aquaplex will have an opening event on October 29 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Adjacent to the Hampton Roads Convention Center and Hampton Coliseum, this state-of-the-art facility is the largest of its kind in Virginia. This 62,739 sq. ft. facility features a 50-meter competition pool, 25-yard programming pool, spectator seating for 1,500, on-deck athlete seating for 760, and an outdoor splash park. The free opening event will feature entertainment, refreshments and pool demonstrations. Doors will open at 10 a.m. followed by a program at 10:30 a.m. featuring Olympic gold medalist Cullen Jones.

Comic fans unite! The Hampton Comicon returns this year to the Hampton Roads Convention Center on October 15 from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with comic book creators, special celebrity guests and more. Additionally, crafters can make their way to happiness at this seasons' Bodacious Bazaar! The Bodacious Bazaar Fall Show will kick off November 11-13 and features 350 quality vendors, crafters, artists and local businesses.
