Hampton honored with new Green Book historic marker

A new historic marker was unveiled in Hampton this fall. The designation, commemorating the former Bay Shore Beach & Resort, is part of a statewide program noting sites throughout the state that were featured in the Negro Motorist Green Book, a resource that Black travelers used during segregation to locate businesses in the South that serviced African Americans.
