June 7, 2021 Iowa Tourism Award recipients Kara Grupp, Three Pines Farm, Cedar Falls (Outstanding Attraction) and Cherrie Northrup, Black Hawk County Conservation, Hickory Hills Holiday Lights, Waterloo (Outstanding Event) were presented their awards at the Cedar Valley Hospitality Partners meeting on June 1. Experience Waterloo was also recognized for receiving the People’s Choice Award for their Black Capital of Iowa Passport program along with The Ragged Edge Art Bar and Gallery, Cedar Falls (Outstanding Retail Experience – runner up) and Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance / RAGBRAI, led by Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau and Cedar Rapids Tourism Office (Outstanding Marketing Collaboration – runner up). The theme for this year's annual festival is Rock the Park and several new events have been added. Our newly redesigned, award-winning publication is an amazing opportunity to showcase the uniqueness of the Cedar Valley to all potential visitors and residents. More than 40,000 print copies of our Visitors Guide are distributed at trade and consumer shows, hotels, information centers, Iowa Welcome Centers, the Waterloo Regional Airport, UNI-Dome, McLeod Center, Bien Venu Event Center, Cedar Falls Convention and Event Center, Waterloo Convention Center and many other local businesses. Visitors Guides are also included in packets mailed to potential visitors and relocating new residents. A digital version is also available, with past versions driving over 3,000 visitors to our website. Readers have the opportunity to learn about all of the amazing places that make the Cedar Valley a great a place to live, work, play and visit.
