April 12, 2021 National Volunteer Week is April 18-24.THANK YOU to the many volunteers who make the Cedar Valley a special place, and especially to those who help make the Cedar Falls Tourism & Visitors Bureau operate smoothly! From the professionals who serve on our board and committees, to the volunteers who help us at the Visitor Center and special events, we greatly appreciate you. According to nationalservice.gov, Iowa ranks #4 by volunteer rate. And, the estimated national value of each volunteer hour is currently $27.20. Our accomplishments reflect the work of our volunteers and for that we are grateful! Thank you to Steve Adams, Dick Brammer, Lyle Kruger, Doris Lang, John Lang, Jim Reindl, Joy Theil, Mike Tompkins, Bob VanGorp, Wendy VanGorp, and Kurt Wiethorn for distributing wrestling packets during weigh-in at the USAW Folkstyle Nationals Championships at the UNI-Dome, March 31-April 2. We are always looking for people who are interested in being part of a truly fun and unique experience. Cedar Falls Community Main Street has announced their Movies Under the Moon family-friendly film series which will be back at Overman Park starting June 4. June 4 - Jumanji The 24th Annual Coors Bull Riding Classic starts at 7pm on April 16 & 17 at the Hippodrome. This event will feature 50 professional bull riders from around the country. Included in each ticket purchase is a dance with live music by Wildcard after each bull riding performance that will be held in the National Cattle Congress Pepsi Pavilion from 8:30pm-12:30am. Thank you to the UNI Dome, Cedar Valley SportsPlex, Cedar Valley Soccer Complex, and Cedar Valley Sports Commission for assisting us with hosting the 1st annual Playmaker Back to Ballin 7on7 football tournament, March 27-28. 40 teams, 4 states, 3 venues, 1 champion.
