SkyFest Big Bear is growing, and we need the entire community’s help to make Big Bear feel like an astro-themed destination throughout the weekend.
Our vision is to bring SkyFest back year after year and grow it into a signature Big Bear tradition—one where our entire community comes together to celebrate the stars and the beauty of the night sky while welcoming visitors to experience one of the many reasons we’re proud to call Big Bear home and establishing the valley as a leading astrotourism destination.

Daily from 12:00 PM–11:00 PM at locations throughout Big Bear SkyFest is a three-day celebration of astronomy, stargazing, exploration and dark-sky preservation. Activities include: - The new AstroFestival and Expo at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center
- Telescope stargazing, night hikes and guided sky discovery at Snow Summit
- Free family activities at the Big Bear Discovery Center

We encourage every member and partner to create something fun that connects with SkyFest. Your participation can be as simple or creative as you’d like: - Restaurants, cafés and bars: Create a space-themed menu item, cocktail, dessert or late-night special.
- Hotels and vacation rentals: Offer a themed guest amenity, welcome gift, late checkout or SkyFest package.

Activities and attractions: Develop a daytime special, night-sky experience or attendee discount.
- Retail businesses: Feature celestial merchandise, create a themed display or offer a weekend promotion.
Please encourage your team to highlight your SkyFest offerings and help guests discover other participating businesses throughout town.

We have SkyFest table tents available for restaurants, bars and other businesses. Displaying them where guests can easily see them will help visitors and locals discover the event while reinforcing SkyFest as a destination-wide experience.
To request table tents, email mikel@bigbear.com, and we’ll deliver them to your business. |
We’re asking lodging members to offer SkyFest attendees 15% off a minimum two-night stay during the event weekend.
Participating properties will help make it easier for visitors to experience the full three-day event while gaining visibility through SkyFest lodging promotions. |
