This weekend’s highlights include:

Fishin’ for $50K Trout Tournament
Fishin’ for $50K returns May 30–31, bringing anglers and families to Big Bear Lake for one of our signature spring events. This year includes seven tagged trout worth $10,000 each, plus a $2,500 Tournament Champion prize.

Reel Ale Festival
Running alongside Fishin’ for $50K, the Reel Ale Festival takes place May 29–30 at Meadow Park/Ski Beach. This event brings together craft beer, music, outdoor lifestyle, lake views, and a fun festival atmosphere for both anglers and visitors.

Final Weekend of Maifest
This is also the final weekend of Maifest at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center. Known as Oktoberfest’s little sister, Maifest brings a lively German-style spring celebration with food, music, dancing, and family-friendly fun.

These events give us a great chance to tell a bigger story about Big Bear as a place where lake life, outdoor recreation, local businesses, and community events all come together.

Next week, Big Bear welcomes the 34th Big Bear Jeep Jamboree, taking place June 11–13.

This event brings off-roading enthusiasts to town for guided trail adventures through Big Bear’s rugged mountain terrain. Expect to see plenty of Jeeps around town, adding to Big Bear’s already thriving car culture and outdoor adventure energy.

This is a great opportunity for businesses to welcome participants, be prepared for increased activity, and help visitors discover more to do while they are here, including dining, shopping, lake activities, nightlife, and family-friendly experiences.
