Big Bear is the perfect place to celebrate Mother’s Day. The weather is beautiful, the lake is waking up, the trails are calling, and our mountain community offers the kind of fresh-air escape that families are looking for this time of year. As temperatures start to rise off the mountain, now is the time to remind Southern California that Big Bear is their perfect place to escape the heat, reconnect, and make memories together. Next Weekend: Maifest + Spartan Trifecta Weekend |
Next weekend is when event season really starts to kick into gear in Big Bear. Maifest begins at Wyatt’s at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center on Saturday, May 16, with additional dates on May 23, 24, and 30. Known as Oktoberfest’s little sister, Maifest brings the energy of a German-style celebration with a fresh spring feel. It is a fun way to help usher in Big Bear’s spring and summer event season. Big Bear Spartan Trifecta Weekend also takes place May 16–17 at Snow Summit. This major athletic event brings racers, spectators, families, and outdoor enthusiasts to town for a full weekend of competition. Race options include the Sprint 5K, Super 10K, Beast 21K, Kids Race, Adaptive Race, and 10K Trail Race. More Spartan info:

These events bring people to town, which creates a great opportunity for local businesses to align their offerings with the weekend. Lodging partners, restaurants, retailers, activity providers, wellness businesses, and service providers can all think about simple ways to speak directly to these visitors. A few examples: Create a Maifest-themed food, drink, or lodging offer Offer a racer recovery special for Spartan participants Promote early breakfast, grab-and-go meals, or post-race dining Highlight family-friendly activities for spectators and guests Share event weekend tips with your guests before they arrive
Even a small themed offer or timely social post can help your business connect with visitors who are already coming to Big Bear for these events. |
Vote Daily for Big Bear Lake |
Big Bear Lake has been nominated again, and we need your help keeping the momentum going.
Last year, Big Bear Lake earned the #1 Lake, and this kind of recognition gives our destination a major boost. It helps keep Big Bear top of mind, gives all of us something to proudly share with guests and customers, and supports the broader story that Big Bear Lake is one of the best mountain destinations in the country.
Please vote daily and encourage your staff, guests, customers, friends, and family to do the same. |
