Trolley to Trails Starts This Weekend
A New Free Big Bear Experience

We are excited to share a brand-new Big Bear experience that starts this weekend and gives locals and visitors a new way to enjoy the beauty of our mountain community.

Trolley to Trails is here.

This new free seasonal route from Mountain Transit runs Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday Fridays from the first weekend of May through the first weekend of October. The route loops around Big Bear Lake, connecting the Village, Stanfield Cutoff, the North Shore, Fawnskin, the Dam, Castle Rock, Snow Summit, and more.

This is more than a new route. It is a new way to experience Big Bear.

Visitors can use Trolley to Trails to reach some of our most popular trail access points without needing to drive to every trailhead. Locals can use it as a free, scenic way to get around the lake, connect with town, or enjoy a peaceful mountain ride. And for anyone who simply wants to take in the views, the full loop around Big Bear Lake is a scenic experience all on its own.

The main pick-up and drop-off location is the Knickerbocker Parking Lot at 630 Knickerbocker Road. The route begins at 8:30 AM, with multiple runs throughout the day, and the final loop returns to the Village at 5:25 PM.

We are truly excited to celebrate this new free, fun, and meaningful experience for our destination. Trolley to Trails makes Big Bear’s trails, lake, and scenic views more accessible for both visitors and locals while also helping reduce traffic, parking pressure, and congestion at popular outdoor areas.

Please help us spread the word. Share Trolley to Trails with your staff, guests, customers, friends, and neighbors. Whether someone is here for the weekend, exploring with family, heading out for a hike, or simply looking for a beautiful ride around the lake, this is a new Big Bear experience worth celebrating.
