August 6, 2021 Discover Art in Jacksonville this Summer
There are some new exhibitions in Jacksonville this summer that you don't want to miss!
In the exhibition, "The Journey," British artist Rebecca Louise Law designed and created a site-specific installation on display at the Cummer Museum until January 9, 2022. She used both dried and fresh plant materials to form an immersive visitor experience that explores the relationship between humanity and nature. There will be an in person event on August 10, Rebecca Louise Law in Conversation, where she will discuss her inspiration, process and recent projects. To help ensure our community’s safety, space is limited and you must register online.
The latest exhibition coming to The Corner Gallery at the Jessie Ball duPont Center is "Triggered: Catalyst to Activist." Through his creations, artist Overstreet Ducasse brings us closer to examining our obsession with gun possession. This exhibition will be on display from August 14 - October 29.
The travelling exhibition, "The Lost World of Dragons" continues at the Museum of Science & History until September 6. Explore the histories of dragons and the cultures that celebrate them through this unique exhibition that features life-size animatronic dragons with realistic movements and sound, as well as interactive displays.
