ICY HOT TOURISM Sports Tourism in Jacksonville is heating up… and cooling down. Recent additions to our community have made Jax the perfect destination for meets, competition and conferences. The new Visit Jax Track at UNF recently hosted a major event, the UF Track & field Invitational, drawing competitors and their families to the new state-of-the-art track. As we look to the future, we’re excited at the new Icemen Igloo development, hosting 2 NHL sized rinks and improvements to the amenities. This improved facility will be a major perk for traveling skaters. Read more about these exciting developments here. TIGER TAKEOVER AT JAX ZOO USA Today has nominated our very own Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens for the 10Best Reader’s Choice Best Zoo Exhibit. The Land of the Tiger exhibit features Malayan and Sumatran tigers in a spacious roaming exhibit. We think they are the best! You have a little less than a month to vote, so spread the news! From coffee to cocktails, we’ve been highlighting the best #onlyinjax spots around town for a unique experience and great meal. Our team visited the booze-free kava bar, Wildcrafters to learn about the burgeoning nonalcoholic scene. We also traveled to some of the best cups of coffee in the 904. Finally, we caught up with Dennis Chan of the newly opened Blue Bamboo Mandarin. Explore Jax’s culinary scene today! SPEND YOUR WEEKEND ON THE TOWN This weekend is shaping up to be an exciting time for everyone in the city. Fishers, foodies, shoppers, and art lovers have plenty to do. You can spend Saturday on the water at the Elite Redfish Series at Jim King Park at Sisters Creek. Or you can shop local with the Market for Makers at the Glass Factory Downtown. Head to the Fuller Warren Bridge this Sunday and live your best taco life at the Inaugural Taco and Tequila Fest. If that isn’t enough, you can visit the Petermax ‘Retrospective’ exhibit at Gallery 725 for a trip back in time.
