March 27, 2020 VISIT JACKSONVILLE IS HERE TO HELP
Our team has developed a Virtual Experience Hub, where locals and future visitors can enjoy #onlyinjax experiences without leaving their homes! 360 videos, live camera feeds, destination information and so many more resources all in one page to provide the inspiration (and tools) needed to experience Jacksonville from inside your home!
With our virtual reality library you can catch your first wave with an online surfing lesson, take a peaceful hike through our preserves, cruise along the St. Johns River and more! And our Jacksonville-themed printable puzzles are a great way to keep the kids busy, while learning about Jax!
Along with the Virtual Experience Hub, our #JaxfromHome site is the best way to share the spirit of the city with the whole world. We are partnering with local hospitality businesses, attractions and restaurants to let people know how they can support local makers right now—even if they can't leave their couch. If you have any promotions, to-go specials, deals or experiences share them with our hashtag, #JaxfromHome. Let’s all help support our industry in this time of need.
SUPPORT TODAY & TOMORROW USA Today created Support Local, an initiative that helps promote local businesses during the self-isolating and restrictive periods. Each section is location-based and offers a direct link to the business and where you can support through buying giftcards. This program helps the makers of Jacksonville continue to serve our community. You can participate by following the link. TAKEOUT NATION Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light have developed Open for Takeout, a national directory of restaurants and bars that have opened takeout services during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can submit local bars and restaurants here. Their database is expected to be up and running Friday, March 27th. WHAT'S HAPPENING Gathering data on the impact caused by COVID-19 now will help ensure that our community can recover as quickly as possible. Here are three surveys we would appreciate feedback on if you have not yet completed them: Department of Economic Opportunity’s business damage assessment survey. CONNECT WITH US We want to stay connected with the people who make Jacksonville happen--you! Visit Jacksonville has developed a Facebook group to help share city development news, events and more to the tourism industry. Please take a second to check out our group and encourage your coworkers and other tourism businesses to add themselves to our group! WHAT'S NEW IN THE CITY? Visit Jacksonville maintains an updated list of all recently opened restaurants, nightlife, shopping and more. Check out what's new in the community here.
