FLORIDA TOURISM DAY - Visit Jacksonville President Michael Corrigan is preparing to hit the road and head to Tallahassee, where the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association is hosting Florida Tourism Day. The tourism industry is ready to share with lawmakers all the economic benefits and positive impact Florida’s number one industry has. Be on the lookout, our Mobile Visitors Center, Seymour Jax, will be accompanying Michael to Tallahassee on January 22. HOCKEY IN THE BOLD CITY - Jacksonville is home to seven professional sports leagues, so it’s no surprise that the East Coast Hockey League chose the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena to host their All-Star Classic on January 8, 2021. This is the first time that Jacksonville will be hosting the All-Star Classic, with an anticipated economic impact exceeding $1 million. Congratulations to all who have worked hard to bring the game to town, especially ECHL affiliate the Jacksonville Icemen. UPCOMING EVENTS- Our event calendar is one of the most heavily trafficked pages on our site, featuring events that appeal to all visitors. We have developed a quick snapshot of the best events to share with visitors looking for something new and exciting to experience. PHOTO CONTEST WINNER - Congrats to our December photo contest winner, Michael Chrusciel. December’s theme was Outdoors, and Michael’s stunning Treaty Oak shot was the winner. January’s theme is Neighborhoods, so take the chance to show off your favorite neighborhood spots for the rest of the month!
